RACERS ON THE HIGH STREET
Over the last 5 years we have put some of the most iconic Grand-Prix , World Superbikes and British Superbikes on our town-centre circuit. These bikes have brought the sounds and sights of road racing to the Parade track in Brackley. For 2018 we will trace the domination of the great Italian makes through their heydays of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and their resurgence during the early years of the 2000s.
From the 50s
A 500cc Gilera
and an incredible 500cc V8 Moto-Guzzi.
From the 60s
An Ex Works 500cc Bianchi Twin and the 500 4cyl Benelli – both seen here with Ago
A 350cc MV Triple
From the 70s
A 500cc Hannah-Paton twin
A 500cc Triple and this rare 4Cyl MV
The 80s and 90s
The 80s and 90s were thin times for Italian racing as the Japanese racing bikes dominated the World Scene.
from the 2000s
In the 2000s came the Italian resurgence with some incredible Ducati machines. We have two of the early "Screamer" engined GP3s
This Ex Troy Bayliss No12
This Ex Loris Capirossi No65
Most of these fabulous bikes will Parade on track but where parading is not possible those bikes will be fired-up and you will at least hear the engines that once ruled the world.
